Detailed Itinerary
Day 01 : Arrival in Leh.
You will reach Leh as per your scheduled flight. Today is the rest and acclimatization day. If you wish, you can visit Hall of fame in the evening.
Day 02 : Leh – city tour
Being in the high altitude region, one might undergo high altitude sickness. So, we will start our day at a slow pace. Later we will visit Shanti Stupa & and Leh palace which gives the panoramic view of Leh city & surrounding snow capped mountains. In the evening you can take a stroll in the market.
Day 03 : Leh – Khardung La – Turtuk
Today early morning proceed to Turtuk via Khardung La and Nubra valley. Khardung La(Pass) is known as world highest memorable road. After crossing this pass get the glimpse of meandering blue ribboned Shyok river captivates every beholder en-route Turtuk. While watching enthralling shades of the virgin nature, we reach Turtuk in the evening. This is the last village allowed to visit by civilians on India-Pakistan border. Stay overnight at Turtuk.
Day 04 : Turtuk – Nubra Valley
Early morning take a walk through the village. In 1971 war against Pakistan, Indian Army won this Turtuk village. We still can see the Pakistani army bunkers & posts in the village. We also can see Pakistan and Indian check posts facing each other. Post lunch we start for Nubra Valley, the cold desert. Dinner and Over night stay at Hunder.
Day 05 : Nubra Valley – Leh
After breakfast, enjoy sand dunes in the cold desert. Here we will get see the unique double hump bactrian camels (found only in this region). Later we proceed to Diskit to see 100ft tall statue of Chamba buddha, looking after the entire valley. En-route Leh take a pit stop at Khardung La (18,380 ft) known as the world’s highest motorable road. One can take some pictures here and head back to Leh & stay overnight.
Day 06 : Leh – Pangong Tso – Leh
Yet one more day to start early. We will go through the sprawling mountain ranges of Ladakh to witness the mesmerizing beauty of Pangong lake. On the way we pass through Chang la ( 17,000 ft +) known as the third highest motorable road in the world. By lunch time we reach the surreal place of Pangong Tso. We have the entire day to explore around Pangong Tso. If luck favors, one might site a variety of rare birds and wild animals in the vicinity. Late in the evening we reach and stay overnight at Leh.
Day 07 : Leh – Lamayuru – Leh
After breakfast we proceed to the famous and oldest monastery in Ladakh, Lamayuru monastery. We will visit the monk school and some daily rituals of monks. Enroute Lamayuru we will also see the Magnetic Hill, Pathar Sahib Gurudwara & the confluence of river Indus & Zanskar. Moon-land is one more attraction we visit on the way. Some say that the land structure is exactly like that of Moon, and few believe that this land shines in the moonlight; but this is a natural panorama. As we leave Lamayuru and reach Leh, the mountain range changes its colors from brown to yellow to purple to offwhite. This magnificent range of Himalaya is truly a sight to behold.
Day 08 : Departure from Leh
After morning breakfast, get ready to leave this charming region of Ladakh with lots of amazing memories and fly off enjoying the aerial view.
